Katia Beaugeias (sydney)
Katia Beaugeais is an award-winning French-Australian saxophonist and composer. She is a Vandoren Paris and Selmer Saxophone Artist. Beaugeais’s music has been performed in America, Canada, Croatia, Slovakia, Austria, Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Peru, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. Beaugeais is doing a PhD in Composition analysing the dual role of a composer-performer at the Sydney Conservatorium. She is also writing an Education Composer Resource Kit featuring Australian saxophone music for the Australian Music Centre.
Completing A.Mus.A on Saxophone in 1979, Lachlan graduated with distinction from The Victorian College of the Arts in 1983. Performing solos with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, lead Alto sax with The Australian art Orchestra and the Daryl Mckenzie Jazz Orchestra and many T.V. (Dancing with the stars-all seasons) and concert performances (Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, John Farnham, George Benson) also on many C.D’s and films.
Ian Godfrey graduated in music from the Melbourne College of Advanced Education and went on to specialise in the areas of music education and performance. Locally he has performed with the MSO and Orchestra Victoria on clarinet, bass clarinet and various saxophones.
